Redeveloping West Town, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, Hermosa, and Avondale communities for the benefit of and control by the low and moderate-income families in these areas is Bickerdike’s highest priority.

We would not be able to achieve any of our goals without the support of our donors. We are enormously grateful for all of our supporters, as every one of you allows us to serve more people and continue to deliver effective and transformative programs. We welcome you to learn more about our mission and work, and thank you for joining us in this important cause. All donors to Bickerdike receive a subscription to our electronic newsletter, recognition in materials, an invitation to our special events, and information on volunteer opportunities.

DONATE ONLINE (CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD) 

Online donations are quick, easy and secure. Bickerdike’s online donations are managed through PayPal’s safe and secure giving system.

GIFTS BY CHECK

Check should be made payable to "Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation" with a cover letter or note in the memo section indicating your intent to support the entire organization or a particular event. Please send the check to: Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, 2550 W. North Avenue Chicago, IL 60647.

GIFT CARDS OR TICKETS

Donate store gift cards or event (sports, theater, music, cultural, etc.) tickets to Bickerdike and we will put them to good use in our programs, use them as incentives for our hard-working employees, or give them away to our members at our Annual Membership Meeting. Please contact the Resource Development Manager to arrange your gift card or ticket donation.

SPONSORSHIP/MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES AT OUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Get your company’s name and logo in front of our thousands of people who visit our website, log onto the Humboldt Park Portal, read our newsletter and our entire membership body!

Each year in early December we hold our Annual Membership Meeting; there we present our accomplishments for the year and vote on important governing resolutions that will affect our work in future years. You could help offset the expense of this meeting for us and receive a nice plug for your business or organization in the process! Please contact the Resource Development Manager to discuss sponsorship levels and their accompanying benefits.

GIFTS IN-KIND

Gifts of tangible personal property related to the “charitable purposes” of Bickerdike may be eligible for a deduction of the asset’s full fair market value. Please contact Bickerdike’s Resource Development Manager before making your gift.

GIFTS OF SECURITIES: STOCKS, BONDS, MUTUAL FUNDS

To transfer securities to Bickerdike, you or your broker should contact our Chief Financial Officer for transfer instructions and account information. If you are directing your gift to a specific program or purpose, please indicate which one. Your tax deduction for gifts of publicly traded securities is determined by taking the average, or mean, between the high and low trading prices of the security on the date of the gift (or nearest trading date[s]). A gift of securities is not complete until it is received, unconditionally and irrevocably by Bickerdike. An acknowledgement of the effective date of the gift and its value at that time will be sent to you.

Closely held stock, Subchapter S corporate stock, limited liability company interests, and partnerships can sometimes be used to make a charitable gift. Any proposed gift of such assets should be reviewed in advance with and your tax advisor. An S corporation, limited liability company, or partnership may also donate specific assets with the deduction divided among the shareholders or members.

CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS

Gifts from current or retired employees and their spouses and board members of corporations are often eligible for corporate matching funds. Please check to see if your employer matches charitable gifts; it’s a simple way to increase your donation to Bickerdike.

GIFT PLANNING

Bequests, charitable remainder trusts and annuities, charitable lead trusts, gifts of retirement accounts or life insurance policies, real estate, stock options – these are some of the many ways you can give to Bickerdike. Please consult with our Resource Development Manager regarding gifts that require legal or tax planning.
