Youth & Safety Committee

The Humboldt Park Youth and Safety Committee (HPYSC) is an outgrowth of the New Communities Program (NCP) Taskforce, which was organized in 2005 to develop and carry out a Quality-of-Life-Plan through its lead agency, Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation. The Youth & Safety Committee maintains a direct link with the Taskforce, its members, local residents, and community service providers. It is comprised of representatives of block groups, grassroots organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, faith-based organizations, youth groups, and other local stakeholders committed to public safety in the greater Humboldt Park community. Currently in 2013 the Safety Committee merged with the Youth Development Committee to form one partnership to work on the same goals and objectives as a collective body. The HPYSC is to be understood as a working committee, whose deliverables are directly tied to the Humboldt Park NCP Quality-of-Life-Plan.
